Limericks

This week in literacy we have been looking at limericks. A limerick is a 5 lined rhyming poem. The first and second line have to rhyme, then the third and fourth line have to rhyme. The final line has to rhyme with the first and second line. I found this activity pretty easy. I did find it a little bit difficult to make up my own poem though. Goals For Term 2

For this term I am going to set goals in which I would like to complete by the end of the term. One of my goals is to focus more in class and pay more attention so I can get more work done. Another thing I would like to achieve is to post more each week because I haven't been posting that often. My last goal is to get better at reading and start doing it for often.

Diary Entry

This week for reading we have been working on our diary entries. We had to write a little diary entry about what happened on the day of the explosion or a few days after. I chose to write from a daughters prospective. Here is my writing.

This week for literacy we have been asked by our teacher "what is Art?". So we all made a presentation explaining what art is. I think art could be anything really. Comment what you think art is and see if anyone has the same answer. Just think about it art could be ANYTHING!! Here is my work.

Literacy Reflection T2W9

Writing
This week for writing we have been doing speeches! I LOVE SPEECHES!! I am doing my speech on the school production (which I am in). I won't share my speech with you though because that will spoil it for my class.

Reading
This week for reading Group 2 (my group) have read Mrs Wildings Potatoes. This book is about a old lady called Mrs Wilding who has a great garden. She asked the boys to help her with a bag of compost. But the boys were in a hurry to meet a new all black. They helped Mrs Wilding but Corban (the all black) had all ready arrived. He answered  questions but did not sign balls. The boys were bummed out that the old lady held them up. Read the journal to find out what happens next!

Word work
Since we have been doing speeches this week we were working on strong words. Strong Words are words that make your writing better. We picked 8 words to use in out speech and we had to find out the meanings of them. Here is my work!

Literacy Reflection T2W7

Writing
This week for writing we wrote a description about Miss Reissmann our NEW teacher! I think I could add in more F.A.N.B.O.Y.S. and Conjunctions. I loved doing this task and next week we are describing a family member so I'm going to do my Granddad. So here it is! All so comment who you would describe!! 

Reading

This week for reading we have done a book summary about the book Leave. I liked this book because it was really Sweet. I could add in more words next time. Here it is!

Word Work
This week for Word work I am Going to share my Sentences. I have done some silly and some interesting. I think it was hard to come up with the sentences. I think next time I could use better punctuation. Here is my word work sentences.

Reading

This week for reading we have read a book called Leave. It is about a girl called Jade and her Mum had to go to the army. Jades Mum needed her hat to go to the army so Jade hid the hat under the hedge so her Mum had to stay home. Jades Mum left without it though. Sorry I dont have a picture but if you could please leave a comment if you have read this book/journal. 

Power Writing

This week for literacy we have been doing writing. For writing we chose a topic to write about. I chose to write about how the months of the year got there names. I found out how August got its name and I have done my into. Here is my work.

This week for Literacy we have been doing our camp reflection. I am going to put my introduction in to this blog post. I think it was fun writing about camp. My favorite part of camp was when we went to the swimming pool. We also did word work. For word work I have done the meanings of my words. Here is my introduction and word work. 

Literacy Reflection W7 T1

WALT to write a introduction about Shanty Town. This week for literacy we have been learning about Shanty Town. We have made a google drawing. We made this in partners my partner was Sebastian. I think this was really fun and I learnt about how long ago Shanty Town opened and that Shanty Town opened on the 23 of January 1971. I also learnt how to write an introduction.

Hannah and I also made a spine poem out of five books it was really funny here is my spine poem.  

 

This week for word work I have found all the meanings of my words. I am on level 6 out of 6+. My words were a bit hard but not to hard for me. Here is y doc.

This week for literacy we did a naughty or nice piece of writing. We had to persuade the person tho put us on the nice list. I thought it was really fun. Next time I could write more here is a bit of what I have done.

Literacy Reflection T3 W8

This week for literacy we had to make a word cloud about a book. I chose to do the BFG by Roald Dahl. I found it challenging but I did it. My next step is to get more word on to my word cloud. I hope we do this again because it was fun. Here is my world cloud.

This week for literacy I have been working on FANBOYS which is something to do with writing. I found this easy to do. My next step is to get more done. It was real fun to learn something new. I would love to learn more about this

Term 3 Week 2 reflection

Olympics - This week we have been studding the 2016 Rio Olympics. We have studded 3 athletes and country. Sorry I did not do the country ones though. I found this really hard to find a person to do. My next step is to be quicker.  I think i learnt heaps about these ateletes. Here is my work.

Speech- This week I did my speech it was super exciting. I think my next step would be to be more louder. Here is my speech.

Numeracy - This week for numeracy we have learnt how to use fractions. I learnt how to add decimals in bigger math problems. I found this hard because I was learning something new and I did not know how to do this before. My next step is to learn how to subtract decimals and fractions.

Week 9 Reflection

Numeracy- WALT:To complete and show how much it costs to own a dog. This week for numeracy we have had to find out how much it is to own a dog. The dog that we chose was a french poodle. Here is my work. 

PrEP- This week and last week we had this thing called PrEP, It is when we make stuff and sell it for Kawa or what the name is. We started of doing our C Vs, then we had to apply for a job and venture, then we had to look at what job we got, then we have had to order the stuff we need, then we had to make a plan, then we had to make the product, then we had to make heaps of the product, then we had to sell. We managed to get some photos. Last week we had little market, on Thursday this week we had big market, here is a photo of me and all the things I bought. Just saying we sold heaps.Here is the link to our PrEP site.

Literacy - This week for literacy we have started to practice our speeches for class. We have started our bubbl.us and put all our ideas in to it here is my bubble us.

Topic - This week for topic we have had the high school come in and make games for us online. Sorry I do not have a photos of this event. It was fun and we had this game and I kept on hitting the walls and starting over and over again.

Week 7 reflection

Numeracy -  W.A.L.T: To work out fraction problems. This week for numeracy we have been working on Khan Academy and studdy ladder to work out fraction problems. I found this hard to understand what the question meant here is my work on Khan Academy and Studdy ladder. I have also worked some of it out in my maths book

Writing - WALT show not tell. This week for writing we have made a screencastify of us describing a emotion but we could not use words like happy, sad, scared and angry. I found this east to do.

Reading - WALT: to find out how punctuation makes a big difference. This week we have had to look at this sentence and find out why it sounds different. I found this easy. My next step is to use harder sentences.

Week 4 Reflection

Reading -  This week for reading we have had to find better meanings for different words. I found this quite hard because I only started on Thursday and now it is Friday. My next step is to use harder words.

Writing - This week for writing we have been working on our Charlotte's web slide we had to write a newspaper article. I found this easy.
