Camp Reflection

Fox Glacier
On day one we went to the Kiwi house and saw a baby kiwi they looked so small and fluffy. We learnt how baby kiwi are an easy target because the are small and don't know how to defend properly. The adult kiwi are large and know how to defend.

We also went to a Lake and went for a swim and jumped off the jetty. We had to wear swim caps so we did not get lost. One side of the jetty was clean the other not so clean it was smiley and gross.

We saw the glowworms and I fell into a ditch but the glowworms were so cool. We thought we took a wrong turn but then we saw a light in front of us so we knew we weren't lost so we continued to walk.

We had sausages and vegetables for tea and had ice - cream and apple crumble for pudding. It was so yum.

In the morning we had spaghetti on toast and and cereal it was delicious . Then we chillaxed for a wee bit.

We went geocaching and it was fun. We had Aimee and she got us hubba bubba. When we got back we got two lollipops each.

We went on a big walk up to the glacier and I lost my drink bottle it rolled down the glacier. The view was amazing.

We went to the pool and had a swim it was so much fun. I wish we could do it again. Then we got back to the Top 10 holiday park and had showers and then we had nachos.  After the nachos I felt sick I think I ate too much. Then we did our camp diaries and the we went to bed.

The next day we went on the tree top walk in Hokitika it was so high up.
This camp was so fun. Then we came back to Greymouth and went home.

Week 9 Reflection

The coming storm is my writing that I have been working on
Exercise 7 This is my Numeracy follow up I am learning to

What to do
Use the information given to you to derive the answer to a similar problem.

  1. If 2 × 25 = 50 what is 2 × 24 ?48
  2. If 4 × 25 = 100 what is 4 × 27 ?108
  3. If 3 × 15 = 45 what is 3 × 14 ?42
  4. If 4 × 15 = 60 what is 4 × 17 ?68
  5. If 6 × 15 = 90 what is 6 × 14 ?56
  6. If 2 × 25 = 50 what is 2 × 26 ?52
  7. If 4 × 25 = 100 what is 4 × 24 ?96
  8. If 3 × 15 = 45 what is 3 × 16 ?48
  9. If 4 × 15 = 60 what is 4 × 13 ?56
  10. If 6 × 15 = 90 what is 6 × 17 ?102

Exercise 8
What to do
Use the strategy add a little/subtract a little to solve these problems.

Julie wanted to find 3 × 28.

She knows that 28 is near 30, so she used 3 × 30 = 90 and subtracted 3 × 2 = 6 to get the answer.

Julie recorded this in her maths book

3 × 28 = 90 – 6 = 84

Using Julie’s method find the answer to the following problems.  Record your working like Julie did.

1) 4 × 19  76 (2) 3 × 41 13 (3) 5 × 59 259
4) 7 × 52 310         (5) 4 × 73 289         ( 6) 3 × 37 97
7) 6 × 102 612       (8) 5 × 301 151 (9) 4 × 698 298
10) 3 × 499 1299 (11) 7 × 602 422 (12) 9 × 3999 35991
WALT: Comprehend what I read.I  have learnt what we use water for and how we can use water.
